We’ve all been there. You’re losing battery life by the second and your cell phone charger is no where to be found. After rifling through just about every bag you own and every drawer in your office, you are caught off guard by the obvious; it’s still plugged into the wall. The charger was camouflaged by an array of internet and computer wires. Not surprisingly, that same conglomerate of cords is not allowing your charger to leave the pack; it’s ruthlessly tangled amongst the wires. You take the time to untangle your charger – a daunting and tedious task you really do not have the patience for at the end of a long work day.
KDDI Japan, a Japanese mobile phone company, is trying to make your life easier by simplifying the mundane task of charging your phone. The Cord Router is an aesthetically pleasing solution to all your phone charger concerns. Two sleek red and green hoops are attached to the wall between your outlet and the place you like to charge your phone (i.e. your desk or counter top). The charger cord drapes elegantly from the hoops and provides an interesting and chic solution to avoiding tangled wires.
The company is hoping to provide a practical and effective solution to this daily problem while keeping in mind functionality and décor.
The Cord Router, offered by the company’s designer mobile brand called iida Mobile Phones, costs around $22 US and was created by Drill Design. The hoops are a hip green and red in color and measure about 3.9 inches across.
The Cord Router is in the top nine cell phone accessories from the extensive iida product line, placing second above other nifty items such as “Bicuitta” (which hides cords beneath a plastic cookie surface) and the “Clip Car” (a toy car which prevents flip phones from opening unexpectedly), according to 944.com
So next time you’re looking for your phone charger, perhaps you will not need to look farther than your wall.
